Convergence in sustainable sciences refers to mechanisms and pathways that lead to sustainability with a specific focus on ‚equity in biological planetary limits‘. These pathways and mechanisms are clearly advocated for the purpose of redistribution of the Earth’s resources in order to human society to operate within the Earth’s biophysical limits.

This is the convergence of the concept of contraction and convergence (C & C), taking its core principles of Equity and Survival and applying them beyond the framework of greenhouse gas emissions to the wider sustainability agenda. [1]
